10 Days best of Uganda Rwanda primates safari takes you across Rwanda with a visit to the scenic Nyungwe Forest National park, gorilla tracking in Volcanoes NP-Rwanda and another in Bwindi National park-Uganda, and then extending to Queen Elizabeth national park for great wildlife adventure and ending with the next to gorilla adventure; the chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest national park. This tour may start in Kigali and end in Uganda or start and end in Kigali Rwanda.

Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to
Nyungwe Forest National park.
In the morning at 8:00am, you will set off a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest
National Park with en route visit to Nyanza king’s palace, Butare national
museum. Reach Nyungwe in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest
House (Budget)/Nyungwe top view hotel (deluxe)/Nyungwe forest camp (Luxury).
Day 2:
Colobus Monkey tracking and afternoon Forest canopy walk.
Take your breakfast and embark on Colobus monkey tracking in Nyungwe Forest
where you will see other primates as vervet monkeys, baboons among others. In
the afternoon, you will enjoy the scening Forest Canopy walk which will offer a
platform to view the entire Nyungwe Forest Canopy. Dinner and overnight (Day
1).
Day 3:
Transfer to Volcanoes National park.
In the morning, you will set off a scenic drive northwards to Volcanoes
national park in Ruhengeri, a home to 360 Mountain Gorillas. Dinner and
overnight at Mountain Gorilla View lodge (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel
(Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 4:
First Gorilla Tracking and cultural walk.
In the morning at 7:30am, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a
briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and
packed lunch. Later ascend in the forest to track the gorillas, an activity
that will take you 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the apes in their
natural wild. After meeting and staying in the presence of the gorillas for a
maximum of one hour, descend back to your hotel for relaxation. In the evening,
you may go for nature walk or visit the Banyarwanda community. Dinner and
overnight stay.
Day 5:
Golden Monkey tracking and transfer to Bwindi National park-Uganda.
In the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing, and
later go for golden monkey tracking where you will enjoy these rare monkey
species feed and play in the forest. On return, you will cross over to Uganda
and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park, home to half of the world’s
remaining mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist camp /Ruhiija
lodge/Bakiga Lodge (Budget).
Day 6:
Second gorilla tracking and nature walk.
In the morning, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park
rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the
memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 2-6 hours depending
on the movement of the animals. Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of
one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then to your Lodge for
lunch and relaxation. In the evening, you may go for community walk in the
nearby community. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 7:
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise.
In the morning, you will set off to QENP passing via Ishasha sector where you
will have game drives to view tree climbing lions, variety of bird species. Reach
the park early enough for lunch. In the afternoon, gather at the Kazinga
channel for a boat cruise along the channel where you will be rewarded with
view of game as Hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants as well as a variety of
birds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Enganzi lodge
/Kyambura game Lodge.
Day 8:
Game drive and Transfer to Kibale NP.
Early morning, you will wake up to go for game drives to catch up with early
risers before returning to their hiding places. You will encounter game as
lions, hyenas, bush bucks, elephants among others. In the afternoon, you will
transfer to Kibale NP, home of 13 primate species. Dinner and overnight at
Chimpanzee Guest house (Budget)/Kibale Primates Lodge (Deluxe)/Ndali Lodge
(Luxury).
Day 9:
Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon nature walk.
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for the
chimpanzee briefing by the forest guide. You will locate the chimps by
listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they
are calling. You will see more other primates such as the red Colobus, black
and white Colobus and the red-tailed monkey. After lunch, go for nature walk in
Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will either transfer to Kampala, reaching early in the afternoon to transfer to Entebbe airport for departure or check in your hotel for overnight stay or transfer back to Kigali in case your departure is again in Kigali.
