MANAGING DIRECTOR’S PROFILE
CONTACT PERSON In Swahili, the word “SAFARI”
means “JOURNEY”. Historically, the
word was synonymous with big game hunting expeditions. Today the majority of
people embarking on this journey are armed with cameras, telephoto lenses and
not with guns for trophy hunting. Capturing your journey in memories with
pictures will be the focus on all our safaris. We will show you our commitment
and passion for the continent, its people and the wildlife. That’s why GORILLAS HOMELAND SAFARIS stand to provide you all this. If you get
to Africa, you will have to love it. Because a lot is not yet discovered,
that’s why on almost every safari we make we get something new. What can I tell
you and leave. The best is you come and explore the land rich in wildlife,
culture and get a chance to move around the country with love. TUKAMUSHABA DAVIS. Born in South Western Uganda, in a remote village of
Buhoma which is the location for the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is well known for her
rare and endangered “MOUNTAIN
GORILLAS”, which is the center for Uganda’s tourism. If you make a
trip to East Africa, don’t forget to include these gentle brown eyed primates,
because after a few years you will ask yourself why you didn’t make it to the
Mountain Gorillas and you will eventually come back the second time. In the year 2000 when I started working in Tourism,
I was still young at the age of 15 years. But because of the love and passion I
had for the forest and its inhabitants, I couldn’t fail to go on and move
further deep into the industry. By that time I was still a student, you can
hardly imagine I hadn’t even joined secondary school so I was in my primary
six. I knew very little about tourism industry, but I was much better than one
who was in other big town schools because of one things. My father Mr. Medard Tumugabiirwe
being one of the longest serving Ranger Guides in the park up to today
2016, he started in the year 1991 when the park was gazetted
into a National park. Started with habituation and in the year 1993, the park was
opened for Tourists come see the beautiful mountain Gorillas. By then I could really love to be like him, but I
had no way how I could do it because I was young and not educated and learned
to some point. In other wards I couldn’t qualify for that job. I continued
working in holidays as a tourist’s porter to the mountain Gorillas. I did this
for a period of ten years, till in 2010 when I decided to go for guiding
trainings and change from being a Tourist’s porter to a Guide. I had learned
many things within that period of ten years especially in visitor handling,
customer care, English speaking and writing, and information about the forest,
animals in it especially mountain Gorillas, birds, the people around the park
because I am among them and many other like accommodation. When I joined Guiding, I found everything very
pleasing, I said I wish I did this before. The tourists very friendly, we could
share information asking about Uganda, and me asking about their countries as
we continued exchanging ideas. This added me more love and passion for the
Tourism industry till in the year 2011 I went at the University and took my
beloved course “TRAVEL
AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT” and graduated in February 2014 but before
the graduation I was still studying another tourism course called TRAVEL AND
TOURISM FOUNDATION (TTF)
commonly known as INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION
(IATA). So here when you are enquiring for
your travel to Uganda, you are dealing with the right people who will do you
exactly what you want. All our members of stuff have studied Tourism and most
of them have IATA and we are consultants
in Travel and Tourism Industry. When I joined the University in 2011, my biggest
dream was becoming a professional Tour Guide like those who used to bring
tourists in Bwindi for mountain Gorillas. I achieved my dream of being a
professional Tour Guide, but I found out that it wasn’t enough just being a
Tour Guide, I decided to becoming a Tour Operator. In the same year I joined
the campus, the same year I registered my Tour Company. I started working as
well as studying and going to attend more trainings. This helped so much to
attain many things in the small period of time. My fellow workmates and those
in the management always tell me that I am a man of my dream because all I
wanted I have achieved them and they are happy to be working with me. After all this, my next dream was making GORILLAS HOMELAND SAFARIS one of
the first five biggest Tour Operators in Uganda, something that is already on
the plate. If you need a safaris company for your travel, please I advise you
go on reserve your booking with us. I don’t say this because I need business
from you or talking well about our company, but because we do use professional
Tour Guides, standard services, excellent vehicles for African safaris
(Extended Land Cruisers, 7 seater, 5 seater, varms Vans, and other
luxury cars for your luxury safari. In terms of accommodation, we use best and
well-furnished lodges and hotels of which some have swimming pools even in the
places you can’t believe such can happen especially in the jungles. So if we
